Ein landwirtschaftliches Gewächshaus im Zentrum von Algund trägt für fünf Monate den Namen Caldera und wird damit zu einem temporären Ort für Kunst und Pflanzen.
Der Name Caldera inspiriert sich am Supervulkan, die Mega-Caldera von Bozen, der vor 280 Millionen Jahren das Gebiet rund um Bozen bis nach Meran beherrschte und den Ursprung für die heutigen mediterranen klimatischen und geologischen Bedingungen und den fruchtbaren Boden im Etschtal darstellt. Der Erdwärme verbunden war auch die Entstehung dieses Gewächshauses, das 2003 gebaut wurde, um sich als Null-Energie-Gewächshaus von Erdwärme und Solarenergie zu speisen. Nach diesem nicht realisierten Ziel ist im Dialog zwischen Harry Thaler und der Familie Siller die Idee entstanden, nach zwanzig Jahren die Pumpen wieder zu aktivieren um die Möglichkeiten des geothermischen Gewächshauses auszuschöpfen. Das von BAU kuratierte Caldera Programm sollte auch eine Inspiration für die Zukunft des Ortes sein. Was kann dieses Gewächshaus im Jahr 2023 sein?

Caldera is an agronomist’s glasshouse in the village of Algund. Over five months it serves as a temporary space for art and plants. The name Caldera is inspired by Bolzano’s supervolcano, the mega caldera, which dominated the area between Bolzano and Merano some 280 million years ago and is the origin of today’s Mediterranean climatic and geological conditions and the fertile soil of the Adige Valley. Geothermal energy is also at the root of the Caldera glasshouse, which was built in 2003. The original goal to make it a self-sufficient, zero-energy project could not be realised over the last twenty years but now, in dialogue with Harry Thaler and co-owner Eva Siller, plans are well underway to reactivate the pumps and engage the potential of the geothermal greenhouse – and of solar energy. This year’s Caldera programme is designed to breathe some life into the place and inspire faith in the future. What could this glasshouse be by 2023?

Per cinque mesi, una serra agricola nel centro di Lagundo porta il nome di Caldera e diventa uno spazio temporaneo dedicato all’arte contemporanea e alle piante.
Il nome Caldera si ispira al supervulcano, la mega caldera di Bolzano, che 280 milioni di anni fa dominava l’area intorno a Bolzano fino a Merano, e che è all’origine delle attuali condizioni climatiche e geologiche mediterranee e dei fertili terreni della Valle dell’Adige. L’energia geotermica è stata anche legata alla creazione di questa serra, costruita nel 2003 per alimentarsi a energia zero grazie all’energia geotermica e solare. Poiché finora non è stato possibile realizzare questo obiettivo, dopo vent’ anni in dialogo con Harry Thaler e la famiglia Siller è nata l’idea di riattivare le pompe e sfruttare le possibilità della serra geotermica. Il programma Caldera curato da BAU dovrebbe anche essere un’ispirazione per il futuro del luogo. Cosa potrà essere questa serra nel 2023?
